Paralegal Litigation

Having assisted clients in the media industries build bespoke financing, accounting and insurance instruments for copyright protection and civil litigation, Hatton & Berkeley are expanding our middle office paralegal outsourcing. Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • Contract Law - The role will involve dealing with a range of commercial matters, both contentious and non-contentious

  • Corporate Law – incorporating UK companies, dealing with Companies House compliance, filing annual returns and company accounts

  • Civil Litigation - dealing with civil litigation claims from beginning to end, drafting substantive responses, drafting Proceedings and Particulars of Claim/Defence

  • Conducting Advocacy: Representing Rights Holders at all small claims hearings; draft and negotiate terms of Settlement and Release Agreements

  • Intellectual Property Law and Practice - Managing Contentious and Non Contentious Issues. This will also involve drafting and preparing bundles for hearings, the preparation of skeleton arguments, drafting witness statements and advocacy for low value matters

  • Conducting legal research for ad hoc projects

Requirements:

  • Law degree or equivalent

  • A minimum of 12 months experience working in a legal practice

  • Experience within litigation or with drafting commercial contracts

  • Confident, professional manner

  • Ability to build relationships with internal staff members

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, pressured environment

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Proficient with Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
