About the role
Having assisted clients in the media industries build bespoke financing, accounting and insurance instruments for copyright protection and civil litigation, Hatton & Berkeley are expanding our middle office paralegal outsourcing. Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Contract Law - The role will involve dealing with a range of commercial matters, both contentious and non-contentious
Corporate Law – incorporating UK companies, dealing with Companies House compliance, filing annual returns and company accounts
Civil Litigation - dealing with civil litigation claims from beginning to end, drafting substantive responses, drafting Proceedings and Particulars of Claim/Defence
Conducting Advocacy: Representing Rights Holders at all small claims hearings; draft and negotiate terms of Settlement and Release Agreements
Intellectual Property Law and Practice - Managing Contentious and Non Contentious Issues. This will also involve drafting and preparing bundles for hearings, the preparation of skeleton arguments, drafting witness statements and advocacy for low value matters
Conducting legal research for ad hoc projects
Requirements:
Law degree or equivalent
A minimum of 12 months experience working in a legal practice
Experience within litigation or with drafting commercial contracts
Confident, professional manner
Ability to build relationships with internal staff members
Ability to work in a fast paced, pressured environment
Excellent attention to detail
Proficient with Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
